Overview
Design
The MacBook Air M3 looks pretty much the same as the previous model, the M2 Air. It's still lightweight and thin, with a metal design. And while there aren't any new colors, you can still choose from 'Silver' and 'Space Grey', or go for 'Starlight' and 'Midnight', which now has a new coating to prevent fingerprints.
Display
The screen on the MacBook Air M3 remains unchanged. It still has a 13.3-inch Liquid Retina display with a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The resolution and color quality are also the same, at 2560×1664 and Wide P3, respectively.
Performance ( M3 Chip )
The M3 chip in the new MacBook Air 13 is the same one found in last year's base MacBook Pro 13. According to Apple, this processor is up to 60% faster than the base M1 chip. It has a total of 8 cores, with 4 for performance and the rest for efficiency, along with up to 10 GPU cores. The chip also supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, as well as an AV1 decode engine for better video streaming quality even at lower bitrates, improving the overall streaming experience.

You still get the Backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad that MacBooks are famous for. There are 4 speakers with 'Spatial Audio' and 'Dolby Atmos' support, plus a three-microphone array with beamforming tech. The WiFi gets a small upgrade from WiFi 6 to 6E, while Bluetooth remains version 5.3. The MacBook Air 13 with M3 runs on macOS 14 Sonoma.
